Hurdles events involve the athlete navigating a series of evenly spaced hurdles while maintaining their speed and rhythm. Hurdles training at SS Athletics Southend therefore focuses on developing key skills, timing and technique, as well as raw speed and endurance.
SS Athletics Southend covers and trains for the 60mh, 100mh and 110mh.
Our expert coaches provide a comprehensive yet tailored training regimen that covers all aspects of hurdles. Athletes will learn proper hurdling technique, including the correct approach, take-off and landing over the hurdles, all while maintaining their momentum.

Honing your child's coordination
We place an emphasis on biomechanics, and work to improve an athlete's stride pattern, rhythm and coordination to ensure both safe and efficient hurdling.
The facilities for success
We enjoy the use of running track, and make use of varying heights of hurdles to tailor training for each age group and stage of the SS Athletics pathway.
